Two Men Team !!????

Liverpool have been showing a certain resilience throughout this season - the kind of belief that they can score late in any game. There is no exception in their last game against the most successful club in Europe - Real Madrid.

You know the result, there is no need to mention again in here. The Reds go marching, that's it.

The extraordinary thing about Yossi Benayoun's winning goal was that it came without Fernando Torres or Steven Gerrard on the pitch.

It was again the trusted left foot of Fabio Aurelio who put the ball on Benayoun's head for the goal. There were just eight minutes left on the clock.

Aurelio may not offer great defensive qualities - he was never known for that - but he offers something special in the attacking third or at set-pieces.

Another key player in this match was Javier Mascherano who was a colossal presence in the Reds' midfield.

With Real Madrid dominating possession, Liverpool had to work very hard to win the ball back. Masch were almost everywhere. He was like a one-man whirlwind.

While it is the attacking players who usually get the headlines, Mascherano does not get the recognition he deserves outside of Anfield.

So when people talk about Liverpool being a two-man team, think again.
